Joining the lineSport Collection, the Chronomètre Furtif allows you to rediscover a fundamental joy: that of having time for yourself alone.
While the Chronomètre Furtif Bleu Only Watch featured a Tantalum case and bracelet - a world premiere - for the small production run of the Chronomètre Furtif, I chose a case and bracelet made of Tungsten Carbide (interspersed with Tantalum elements). This extremely hard material, which is obtained by combining carbon and tungsten at very high temperatures, is generally used in highly specialized technical applications. It is biocompatible, shock-resistant and nearly indestructible.
To complement this exceptional exterior, we have graced the watch with a mirror-polished, anthracite grey Grand Feu enamel on white Gold dial, with matte-finished numerals and minute track. The latter can only be seen by the wearer of the watch, when it is tilted to reveal them according to the angle of the light.
Nestled in a 42 mm Tungsten Carbide case adorned with polished Tantalum elements, the 18 K rose Gold Calibre 1522 with manual winding displays the hours, minutes, and central seconds. The white seconds hand is fitted directly onto the axis of the dedicated wheel, whose nearly linear gear train is a first for F.P.Journe. Symmetrically positioned on the back, on a plate that is finished to the highest standards, are the power reserve indicator (56 hours) and the moon phase aperture.
The Chronomètre Furtif reflects the know-how of our watchmakers, as well as the talent of the artisans of Les Boîtiers de Genève and Les Cadraniers de Genève – both owned by F.P.Journe.
